Tangoe Restaurant is a pure vegetarian restaurant at 80 Gipsy Lane in Leicester. It brings together South Indian cooking and Indo-Chinese flavours, serving lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday alongside a takeaway service.
South Indian choices include idli with sambar and a broad selection of dosas made from rice and lentil batter. Fillings range from potato masala and mixed vegetables to paneer, cheese and Tangoe’s own spicy sauce, with coconut and mint chutneys served alongside.
Indo-Chinese noodles and fried rice are prepared with garlic, ginger, vegetables, soy and chilli, while soups, crispy bhajia, paneer pakora and Manchurian dishes add variety. Chaat such as pani puri, sev puri, dahi puri and samosa chaat brings contrasting crisp, tangy and creamy textures.
Vegan and gluten-free suitability is marked across much of the menu, and a children’s section offers smaller portions. Because soy, gluten, dairy, sesame and other allergens still appear in the kitchen, diners should discuss the latest ingredients and cross-contact risks with staff.
