My Delhi Leicester is an Indian street food restaurant at 26 Belvoir Street in the city centre. The bright, energetic setting is designed to evoke the streets of Delhi, and the menu is developed by chefs with roots in the Indian capital rather than around a conventional British curry-house formula.
Street Plates encourage sharing and explore the snacks and fast-moving dishes associated with roadside stalls. Cauliflower Manchurian is a popular Indo-Chinese example, while the tandoor adds smoky grilled flavours and a different texture to meat and vegetable choices.
Roadside curries and dum pulao rice provide the more substantial part of the meal. Butter Chicken 1950s is a signature dish, joined by recipes inspired by North Indian food culture; the kitchen also offers a useful range of vegetarian and vegan options, and all branches use halal meat.
Indian-inspired cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks support the food, while gulab jamun with ice cream provides a sweet finish. The restaurant also offers takeaway and catering, and guests with allergies should use the current dietary filters and speak with staff before ordering.
