The Verandah is an Indian fusion cafe, restaurant and bar at 71 Queens Road in Leicester’s Clarendon Park. The cosy room serves food from daytime into the evening, combining a relaxed cafe atmosphere with table service, cocktails and a menu that draws connections between Indian regional cooking and British favourites.
Tiffin meals explore distinct regional ideas, from Delhi style dal makhani and Amritsari chickpeas to railway chicken curry and a Goan coconut masala with fish or prawns. Rice, paratha, salad, pickles and yoghurt based accompaniments turn these into composed, substantial meals.
Grilled melts reinterpret the Mumbai sandwich with spiced potato, cheese and house chutneys, while other versions use lamb keema or marinated chicken. Kolkata rolls wrap tandoori fillings, spiced potato and kachumber salad in naan, and the pao selection offers another route into Indian street food flavours.
