Cegin is a small weekday cafe inside Transport House at 1 Cathedral Road in Cardiff. Run by Sugandha and Kuldeep Singh, it describes itself as a Welsh kitchen with an Indian heart and offers a calm, friendly room for breakfast, coffee and lunch.

The everyday cafe selection includes breakfast baps, freshly made sandwiches and toasties, jacket potatoes and a changing hot special. Indian influence appears most clearly in specials and in Cegin Halfnhalf, the team’s travelling street food identity. Hand pressed onion bhaji, aloo tikki chaat, biryani and slow cooked Welsh lamb rogan josh show how regional Indian recipes can be paired thoughtfully with Welsh produce.
