The Bok Shop Brighton is a fried chicken restaurant at 3–4 East Street in the city centre. Founded in Brighton in 2017, the independent brand takes inspiration from the chicken shops of London while adding contemporary flavours and its own playful identity.
Chicken is cooked in pressure fryers designed to retain moisture beneath the crisp coating. Burgers, fried chicken pieces and wings are paired with sauces, pickles, slaws and seasonings influenced by London, the southern United States and parts of Asia.
Vegan fried “chicken” is treated as a substantial part of the range rather than an afterthought, with plant-based versions of several restaurant favourites. Fries, loaded sides and dips make it easy to assemble a larger meal or share different flavours across a group.
