The Prince of Wales is a Wetherspoon pub and restaurant at 81–83 St Mary Street in Cardiff. It occupies a grade II listed former theatre that later served as a cinema and nightclub before becoming a pub in 1999. The scale and history of the building give an everyday city centre meal an unusually theatrical backdrop.
Breakfast begins with traditional cooked plates, vegetarian alternatives, breakfast rolls and hot drinks. The all day menu then moves through small plates, deli meals, burgers, pizzas, curries and familiar British pub classics. Fish and chips, grills and changing promotional dishes provide substantial choices throughout the afternoon and evening.
Vegetarian, vegan and children’s selections make the broad menu useful for families and mixed groups. Published nutritional and allergen tools allow diners to filter current dishes, although the shared kitchen means anyone with a specific allergy should still inform staff when ordering. Smaller portions and meal deals offer alternatives to a full main course.
