The Market Cat is a three storey city centre pub at 6 Jubbergate, on the corner of York's Shambles Market. A collaboration between Thornbridge Brewery and York based Pivovar, it combines the feel of a traditional pub with modern beer, food and wide views towards York Minster.
Milanese style pizza is the food speciality. Dough is made fresh each morning with Italian flour and Thornbridge Jaipur IPA, then offered in snack, standard and large sharing sizes so diners can match a pizza to a quick drink or a group meal.
Bar snacks, nibbles and salads provide alternatives and accompaniments to pizza. Each floor has a different character, from the ground floor's dark wood and snug seating to the brighter kitchen diner and upper booths overlooking the market rooftops.
Craft beer on cask and keg leads the drinks selection, joined by sustainably produced wines, spirits, alcohol free choices, coffee and tea. Guests with allergies should request the current menu and discuss the beer enriched dough, toppings and shared kitchen preparation with staff.
