Dumplings of China is a Chinese restaurant at 60 Home Street in Edinburgh. The chef has developed the craft of dumpling making in kitchens across China and the United Kingdom, and the restaurant serves lunch and dinner six days a week.
Handmade dumplings come with fillings such as pork and Chinese leaves, prawn with pork and chives, beef and onion, cuttlefish or carrot with vermicelli, black fungus and egg. A large rainbow assortment makes it easy for a table to compare several varieties.
The wider menu reaches well beyond dumplings into barbecue skewers, soups, cold dishes, stir-fries and seafood. Sizzling griddle pots can feature mixed vegetables, chicken with chilli, beef tendon, duck, lamb or pork ribs with whole prawns.
Rice, noodles and desserts complete the meal, with reservations recommended during the busiest evening periods. Soy, sesame, shellfish, gluten and egg are common across the menu, so guests with allergies should ask the team about recipes and shared preparation.
