Gusto Modern Italian Restaurant is an independent restaurant and wine bar at 3–5 Goswell Road near Barbican station. Its kitchen is shaped by Italian tradition, fresh ingredients and the pleasure of food shared around the table. Two dining rooms and a hidden rear patio give guests a choice between an intimate meal, a larger gathering and outdoor drinks when the weather allows.
Starters include marinated olives with pizza bread, bruschetta, fried calamari and a colourful burrata salad with beetroot, squash, tomatoes and truffle sauce. Grilled scallops, octopus salad and carefully cooked seasonal vegetables show the kitchen moving comfortably between seafood and produce. Sharing platters gather cheese, cured meat, bread and accompaniments for a sociable beginning.
Pizza uses fior di latte and San Marzano tomato across classics such as Margherita, spicy salami, Parma ham and Capricciosa. White base recipes introduce goat cheese, courgette, stracciatella, pistachio and truffle. Pasta and risotto can feature Italian sausage, aubergine, seafood or mushrooms, while fish, meat and vegetable main courses extend the menu beyond the familiar staples.
Traditional desserts and proper Italian coffee bring the meal to a natural close. The wine bar offers bottles chosen to complement the food, alongside cocktails, beer and soft drinks. Vegan choices and gluten free alternatives are available, although the shared kitchen cannot guarantee the absence of gluten, and the team can advise diners about the most suitable dishes.
