A Tavola Italian Deli is a family run deli, wine bar and cooking school at 12 Madison Square in Liverpool’s East Village. Its newly refurbished space combines an all day cafe and bar with a retail counter, creating a relaxed place to eat as well as a destination for Italian ingredients and bottles to take home.
Simple Italian food is built around carefully sourced produce and fresh preparation. Focaccia, bruschetta, burrata, cured meats and regional cheeses lend themselves to shared plates, while freshly made pasta and other changing dishes provide a more substantial meal.
The deli stocks hundreds of food and drink products, including bread, pastries, fruit, vegetables, gluten free goods and vegan ingredients. More than a hundred wines sit alongside organic beer, coffee and spirits, and the team can help diners choose a bottle or pairing for the food in front of them.
Cooking classes and wine tastings are central to A Tavola’s identity, with the open kitchen used for sessions covering fresh pasta, cannoli and other Italian techniques.
