SINO is a contemporary Ukrainian restaurant at 7 All Saints Road in Notting Hill. Founder Polina Sychova and chef Eugene Korolev have built the dining room around heritage, memory and hospitality, with a restrained interior whose hay references echo the restaurant’s Ukrainian name.
Korolev’s cooking takes familiar Ukrainian flavours and reworks them through modern European technique. The menu is designed to move across several dishes, with rye and sourdough breads, dumplings, vegetables, fish and carefully prepared meats giving a broad view of the restaurant’s approach.
Representative dishes have included beef dumplings in a spiced broth, crayfish with cabbage, chicken Kyiv and honey cake. The point is not simply to reproduce traditional recipes, but to preserve recognisable ingredients and memories while giving each plate a more precise contemporary form.
An experimental cocktail bar uses techniques such as infusions and gelification to turn childhood references into drinks, while the cellar gives particular attention to Ukrainian varieties alongside established European wines. A private dining room for up to eight overlooks the kitchen, and advance reservations are encouraged for the intimate main space.
