Zipbab is a Korean restaurant at 51 Red Lion Street in Holborn. Its relaxed dining room serves lunch and dinner, with home cooked comfort food and generous portions giving the restaurant an approachable neighbourhood character.
Gimbap rolls are a speciality, combining seasoned rice, vegetables and fillings such as tuna, beef or spicy pork. Bibimbap offers another complete rice based meal, with vegetables, protein and sauce mixed together at the table in a bowl or hot stone pot.
Korean fried chicken, dumplings, pancakes and tteokbokki provide strong choices for sharing. Warming soups, bossam, short ribs and kimchi pork dishes add depth for a longer dinner, moving between crisp, grilled, braised and fermented flavours.
Soju and other alcoholic or alcohol free drinks support the menu through the evening. Zipbab works particularly well for a group willing to share several plates, but its rolls, rice bowls and soups are equally practical for a focused Holborn lunch.
