Sessions Arts Club occupies the fourth floor of Old Sessions House, the landmark former courthouse on Clerkenwell Green. Guests enter through a discreet red door before reaching a dramatic dining room with tall arched windows, distressed plaster, artwork, plants and the proportions of the former judges’ dining room.
The concise menu changes with the seasons and the quality of available produce. European and Mediterranean influences move through vegetables, seafood, pasta, meat and carefully judged sauces, with dishes arranged so that a table can share several smaller plates before choosing more substantial courses.
Simple descriptions place the focus on combinations of ingredients, allowing freshness, texture and careful seasoning to carry each plate. Desserts and cheese follow the same restrained approach, while a considered wine list ranges across classic regions and less familiar producers.
The venue combines restaurant, wine bar, art and performance space, with exhibitions and events changing the character of the room over time. Sessions Arts Club is reserved for adults, accepts limited table sizes and can be hired in its entirety for private lunches, dinners and receptions.
