Chishuru is a West African restaurant at 3 Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia, led by chef Adejoké Bakare. After beginning in Brixton, the restaurant established its permanent central London home in 2023, bringing a personal and contemporary perspective to the region’s food traditions.
Set menus allow the kitchen to guide diners through a structured sequence rather than a long list of unrelated dishes. Recipes draw on West African ingredients, techniques and memories, with careful seasoning, fermentation and live fire cooking used to build depth and contrast.
The food changes with the season and may move between snacks, expressive main courses and desserts. That evolving format lets the kitchen work closely with available produce while keeping the experience coherent from the first plate to the last.
Chishuru received a Michelin star in 2024, recognition that sits alongside its welcoming and deliberately unforced style of service. The intimate Fitzrovia setting suits diners who want a focused tasting experience while retaining the warmth and generosity central to the restaurant’s identity.
