Kitchen Table Fitzrovia is an intimate modern British restaurant at 70 Charlotte Street. Opened by chef James Knappett in 2012, it places guests around a horseshoe shaped counter facing the open kitchen. The small room turns dinner into kitchen theatre as the chefs prepare, present and explain each course just moments before it is eaten.
The tasting menu changes daily according to the best ingredients available. Individual courses focus on one central element such as oyster, scallop, truffle or deer, allowing the kitchen to explore flavour and texture without losing sight of the produce. A separate vegetarian tasting menu follows the same detailed and seasonal approach.
Ingredients are meticulously sourced or foraged, with independent suppliers providing day boat fish, responsibly farmed meat and vegetables grown in season. This close relationship with producers lets the menu respond quickly to freshness and availability, so the sequence remains a genuine expression of a particular evening rather than a fixed collection of signature dishes.
Drinks are as carefully considered as the food. Guests can select wine, Grower Champagne or alcohol free pairings, while the wider list has particular depth in Grower Champagne and is curated by sommelier Sandia Chang. House spirits and liqueurs shape the cocktail selection, completing a highly personal experience built around the counter, the chefs and each changing course.
