DOOD is a Persian and Levantine restaurant at 63 Quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne. Inspired by the traders and towns of the Silk Road, its richly designed interior uses warm colour and texture to frame a contemporary journey through old spice routes.
Open-flame mangal cooking is central to the kitchen, bringing smoke and char to succulent kababs and other grilled dishes. Cold and hot mazeh offer contrasting vegetables, dips, breads and small plates that encourage everyone at the table to share.
Freshly baked bread and fragrant spices run through the menu, while meat, seafood and plant based choices provide several routes through the meal. A Nomad’s Sunday roast and pre-theatre menu add distinct formats alongside the regular lunch and dinner selection.
The communal style makes DOOD a natural choice for groups, though the focused lunch menu also suits a shorter visit to the Quayside. Guests with allergies should ask about the current dishes, sauces and shared cooking equipment before ordering.
