No. 4 Dine & Wine is an intimate restaurant at 4 Warburton Street in Didsbury. Husband and wife team Paul and Nina opened it in November 2005, creating a personal neighbourhood dining room within a building that is more than two centuries old. Its small scale and warm service make it especially appealing for an unhurried dinner or Sunday lunch.

The food is modern English in outlook and changes with the seasons. Paul’s Cornish connections help shape a menu that values well sourced fish, meat and vegetables, while everything from bread to chocolate truffles is prepared in house. Thoughtful sauces and accompaniments give familiar ingredients a restaurant finish without obscuring their character.

Vegetarian choices and other dietary requirements can be discussed with the restaurant when booking. Because the compact kitchen makes bread, desserts and savoury dishes in the same environment, guests with allergies should provide clear details in advance. The concise format allows the team to focus on a smaller number of carefully prepared dishes rather than an overly broad selection.

A considered wine list supports the seasonal cooking, with the front of house team able to suggest a suitable match. Dinner is served from Wednesday to Saturday, and Sunday lunch brings a traditional weekly rhythm to the restaurant. No. 4 Dine & Wine has endured by pairing accomplished food with the direct, hospitable character of a genuinely independent Didsbury business.
