The Spotted Horse is a longstanding Putney pub on the High Street, with records of a pub under the name dating back to at least 1826. Its combination of a traditional dining room, lively bar and hidden rooftop makes it as useful for lunch as it is for drinks or a social evening.
Fresh, seasonal British cooking shapes the menu. House pies include chicken with leek and bacon, steak with Young’s ale, and a vegan wild mushroom version, while mains range from cider battered haddock and chips to sausages with mash and gravy.
Grilled bavette steak, sea bream and a short rib and brisket burger add further choice, with a plant based burger available as an alternative. Starters and sharers such as chicken croquettes, mushroom arancini, whitebait and baked Camembert suit a table ordering together.
