Whighams Wine Cellars is a wine bar and restaurant at 13 Hope Street in Edinburgh’s West End. Open since August 1983, it occupies atmospheric early nineteenth century cellars and offers everything from intimate snugs to more open dining and bar areas.

Scottish produce shapes the food, with seafood holding a particularly important place. Cullen skink, smoked salmon, Shetland mussels and the changing catch of the day sit beside classics such as fish and chips, giving the menu a clear sense of place without restricting it to one style.

Meat and plant based choices broaden the selection through dishes such as venison, burgers, pasta and vegetable curry. Small plates and desserts make shorter visits possible, while a full meal can finish with sticky toffee pudding, Scottish farmhouse cheese or another changing sweet choice.

Wine is at the centre of the experience, supported by classic cocktails, local beer and malt whisky. Regular tastings and live music reinforce the social atmosphere, and the broad drinks list allows staff to help guests find a suitable partner for the seafood and seasonal cooking.

Address: 13 Hope Street, Edinburgh EH2 4EL, Scotland
