Namma Ooru Dosa is a South Indian restaurant at 138 Mill Lane in Liverpool. Its extensive menu reaches across Tamil and wider South Asian cooking, with dosa at the centre alongside rice dishes, curries, grills and Sri Lankan influenced choices.
Dosa ranges from the crisp plain and paper roast versions to masala, paneer, egg, chicken and mutton fillings. Idli, vada and uttapam offer other classic rice and lentil preparations, accompanied by sambar and chutneys.
Mutton, chicken and prawn biryani provide substantial rice based meals, while vegetarian and meat curries add further variety. Chicken 65, pepper fry, grilled meats and fish dishes give groups plenty of smaller plates to place around a shared table.
Traditional sweets such as kesari and vermicelli payasam complete the meal, with milkshakes and other drinks also available. Reservations, collection and delivery provide flexibility, but the broad menu particularly rewards diners who can sit in and explore several regional dishes together.
