Cafe Koha Bar is a family run restaurant and bar at 10–11 St Martin’s Court in Covent Garden. Established in 1993, it sits between two theatre stage doors and offers a quieter retreat from the surrounding West End streets. Lunch, dinner and late drinks make it particularly convenient before or after a performance, while the terrace adds outdoor seating.
The kitchen receives fresh ingredients daily and prepares its own bread and desserts. Starters can include beetroot carpaccio with goat’s cheese and walnuts, baked Camembert with truffle honey, seared scallops or a Mediterranean platter. Homemade focaccia and soup reinforce the restaurant’s direct approach, while seafood, cheese and vegetable plates offer several ways to begin.
Larger dishes draw broadly on modern European cooking. Spinach gnocchi is paired with wild mushrooms, truffle and Parmesan, while lobster ravioli provides a richer pasta choice. Slowly cooked lamb shoulder, pan roasted duck breast, salmon, sea bass, steak and a house burger cover varied appetites, supported by risotto, salads, fries and seasonal vegetables.
Freshly made cheesecake, panna cotta and other changing desserts give the restaurant a distinctive final course rather than an afterthought. The bar serves cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and coffee, allowing guests to stop in for drinks as comfortably as for a full meal. Set menus and flexible dining areas also make Koha useful for theatre groups, private gatherings and informal celebrations.
