Jackson the Tailor is a late opening bar and restaurant on Leith Street in central Edinburgh, combining a playful tailoring theme with substantial comfort food. The broad menu works for an early dinner, a casual group meal or food alongside cocktails later in the evening.
Scottish flavours appear in haggis fritters, haggis with neeps and tatties, Balmoral chicken and steak and Guinness pie. Fish and chips offers another pub classic, while pesto linguine and salads provide alternatives to the richer meat dishes.
Burgers can be built from beef, chicken or meat free patties with a choice of cheeses, toppings and sauces. Signature combinations add black pudding, haggis, pastrami or brisket, while hot dogs, a Philly cheese steak sandwich and loaded fries continue the generous, informal approach.
Desserts range from sticky toffee pudding and chocolate fudge cake to a deep fried Mars bar or brownie and waffle stack. Coffee and hot drinks sit alongside an extensive bar programme, with signature cocktails, beer, wine and spirits carrying the venue from its food service into the late evening.
