Hot Wok Kitchen Archway is an independent Chinese and Southeast Asian restaurant at 663 Holloway Road. The business began in Guildford in 2000 and moved to Archway in 2015, retaining its emphasis on freshly prepared food, friendly service and good value. An open kitchen lets diners see dishes being cooked to order, while the relaxed dining room welcomes both adults and children.
Starters and small plates include pork and prawn dumplings in chilli vinaigrette, teriyaki chicken bites, vegetable spring rolls, chicken satay and pepper salt squid. Pak choi with garlic and Chinese leaves with shiitake mushrooms bring fresh vegetable flavours to the table. Tofu Surprise contrasts a crisp exterior with a soft centre, finished with chilli, spring onion, garlic and pepper salt.
Main courses travel across several Asian traditions. Singapore laksa combines coconut curry broth, noodles, tofu, bean sprouts and lime with chicken or prawns, while Singapore spicy noodles bring together roasted pork, prawns, shredded chicken and vegetables. Sweet and sour chicken, crispy chilli beef, Thai sweet basil dishes, Szechuan stir fries, Japanese katsu curry, pad Thai, nasi goreng and fried rice provide plenty of further choice.
Set menus make sharing straightforward, including vegetarian combinations built around tofu, vegetables and noodles. Separate vegetarian, gluten free and children’s menus help the restaurant accommodate different needs. Asian drinks and a dessert selection complete the experience, while collection and delivery are available for diners who want the same broad menu at home.
