Wood Oven BBQ is a Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant at 126 George Lane in South Woodford. It has served the neighbourhood for more than twenty years, combining a spacious dining room with visible grill cooking and a stylish cocktail bar. The relaxed setting works for everyday meals, family dinners, parties and larger celebrations.
Hot and cold meze provide a sociable beginning, with hummus, cacik, aubergine, falafel, halloumi, calamari and fresh salads among the choices. Ordering several plates lets a table move between creamy dips, grilled cheese, crisp vegetables and seafood. Bread from the kitchen is a natural companion for the dips and juices from the grill.
Charcoal kebabs form the heart of the main menu, covering lamb, chicken, minced meat, fish and generous mixed combinations served with rice, bread and salad.
