Civerinos Hunter Square is the group’s original Edinburgh restaurant at 5 Hunter Square. Known as The OG, it combines a central Old Town setting with the music, skate and street culture that shape the Civerinos identity. The atmosphere is energetic and informal, making the room a natural fit for shared pizza and relaxed group meals.
Pizza is the main attraction, with whole 12 inch pies and styles influenced by both New Haven and Detroit. Current combinations range from pepperoni and cheese led classics to carbonara, wild mushroom and vodka sausage pizzas. That mixture of familiar toppings and more distinctive sauces lets diners stay traditional or try something less expected.
Pasta, snacks and sides expand the menu beyond pizza, while tiramisu and affogato provide Italian inspired finishes. Vegetarian and vegan choices are available, and gluten free pasta gives mixed groups another option. Diners with allergies should still discuss the current menu with staff because flour, dairy and other allergens are handled in the kitchen.
The restaurant works equally well for a quick central Edinburgh meal or a longer table shared with friends. Drinks and desserts support the main food rather than distracting from it, and the open, upbeat style keeps the experience accessible. New haven or “Apizza,” traditionally baked in coal ovens, is famed for its thin, charred crust and simple, yet flavorful toppings.
