Dick’s Bar is an intimate cafe and bar at 19 Bedford Street in the Norwich Lanes. The room takes inspiration from American speakeasies, serving food from the morning before changing pace into a low lit cocktail bar later in the day.
Brunch covers filled sourdough bagels, pancakes, eggs and seasonal vegetable plates. Bacon, sausage and black pudding can turn breakfast into a substantial meal, while vegetarian and vegan choices such as the Garden Club bagel make the daytime menu useful for diners with different preferences.
Burgers lead the later food selection, using Norfolk beef and locally baked brioche alongside fried chicken and meat free options. Tater tots, buffalo bites, halloumi fries and other snacks can be shared with drinks or added to a burger for a complete informal meal.
Coffee supports the daytime cafe atmosphere, while natural wine, beer and carefully made cocktails take over in the evening. The kitchen’s use of independent local suppliers and fresh cooking gives the American format a clear Norwich identity rather than treating it as a generic diner theme.
