Harriet’s Cafe Tearooms Norwich is an independent, family owned tearoom at 38 London Street. Opened in 2015, it occupies a former gentlemen’s outfitters and retains features including high ceilings, a broad staircase and a stained glass skylight.
The daytime menu follows the traditional tearoom format with breakfasts, light lunches, cream teas and afternoon tea. Freshly baked scones, finger sandwiches, small patisserie and handmade cakes create the classic centrepiece for a leisurely visit.
Loose leaf teas are a particular focus, ranging from house blends to green, fruit and herbal infusions, while freshly ground coffee provides an alternative. Macaroons, fondant fancies and changing cakes give customers plenty of scope for a smaller sweet stop.
Regular service takes place on the ground floor, with some outdoor tables and additional first floor space used on busy days or for private gatherings. Guests with allergies or dietary requirements should ask the team about the day’s menu and available alternatives before ordering.
