Franco Manca Baker Street serves sourdough pizza from a converted former bank in Marylebone. The light and airy restaurant is close to Regent’s Park and the area’s museums, providing an informal place for lunch, dinner or a break during a day in central London.

Its pizza dough uses a starter associated with an eighteenth century tradition and is allowed to rise for more than twenty four hours. Baking at high heat creates a soft, lightly charred crust that supports simple combinations of tomato, mozzarella, seasonal vegetables and Italian cured meats.

Choices range from marinara and margherita to pizzas topped with anchovies, chorizo, spicy salami, prosciutto, mushrooms, truffle or burrata. A folded mezzaluna combines the qualities of pizza and calzone, while vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options allow more guests to take part.

Garlic bread, bruschetta, burrata, aubergine parmigiana and salads provide plates to share before the pizza. Italian inspired desserts, organic wines and relaxed service complete the experience, with collection and delivery available as alternatives to dining inside.
