Gurkha's Nepalese and Indian Cuisine is a family owned restaurant at 67 Sydenham Road. Founded in 2000, it takes inspiration from the loyalty, honesty and resilience associated with Nepal’s Gurkha soldiers. The restaurant serves dinner every evening and offers both table service and takeaway from its long established Sydenham home.
Nepalese momo are a defining starter, with lamb or vegetable dumplings served beside a traditional chutney. Chilli momo adds peppers, onions and a hot sauce, while hara kebab combines lentils, spinach and potato. Garlic mushrooms, onion bhaji, samosa and paneer provide a varied introduction for vegetarian diners.
The tandoor brings char and spice to chicken tikka, lamb, salmon, king prawns and paneer shashlik. Curries then range from mild masala sauces to hotter family recipes and Nepalese specialities.
