Simpsons Restaurant is a Michelin starred Birmingham dining room set in a Grade II listed Georgian villa in Edgbaston. Chef patron Andreas Antona founded Simpsons in Kenilworth in 1993 before moving it to Highfield Road in 2004. The bright modern interior respects the elegance of the building and creates a refined but relaxed setting for the restaurant’s precise cooking.
The food begins with classical technique and develops it through a contemporary British outlook. Impeccably sourced seasonal ingredients provide the structure, with influences from beyond Britain appearing where they sharpen a flavour or introduce a useful contrast. Sauces and detailed garnishes support the main produce while allowing each course to retain clarity.
Tasting and shorter menu formats give diners different ways to experience the kitchen. Courses move through vegetables, fish and meat according to the season before desserts bring the meal to a measured conclusion. Dietary requirements should be communicated when booking so the team can assess the current menu and plan suitable adaptations.
Attentive service and a carefully assembled wine programme complete the experience, helping each table navigate both the food and drink without unnecessary stiffness. The restaurant also operates a cookery school, reflecting its wider commitment to technique and hospitality. Simpsons combines the assurance of a long established institution with cooking that continues to evolve.
