The Fox and Faun is an independent bar and kitchen at 101 Shandwick Place in central Edinburgh. Founded by five friends, it combines friendly, dog loving service with a lively programme of quizzes and music and a clear commitment to food prepared in house.
Local Scottish produce shapes the menu, with fresh fish arriving daily. Cullen skink, haggis spring rolls and Scotch egg provide a regional introduction, while beer battered haddock with triple cooked chips and Balmoral chicken continue that Scottish character through the main courses.
Pub classics include macaroni cheese, sausage and mash, pie, burgers and Sunday roast. Baked butternut squash, bean and lentil chilli and a beetroot and hummus burger give vegan diners substantial options rather than limiting them to a side or salad.
Thirteen draught beers are joined by bottled beer, whisky, gin, wine and cocktails, including choices from Scottish producers. A children’s menu and late opening make The Fox and Faun flexible enough for a family meal, after work food or a longer evening with live entertainment.
