The Rabbit Hole Restaurant is a family run neighbourhood bistro at 11 Roseneath Street in Marchmont. Mo Boulay and Antonello Esposito opened it in 2015, creating an intimate local dining room shaped by their hospitality experience and connections to French, Sicilian and rural Canadian food.
The menu follows a classic brasserie structure but changes regularly with the seasons and daily specials. Cooking begins from scratch, with carefully sourced fish, shellfish, meat, vegetables and cheese used to give familiar dishes a distinctive and thoughtful finish.
Representative choices range from chicken liver parfait and duck confit to seared scallops, moules marinière and steak. Seasonal vegetable dishes receive the same composed treatment, while a changing set lunch offers a concise way to experience the kitchen on Fridays and Saturdays.
A central dining bar, candlelit room, banquette seating and compact booths give the restaurant a relaxed but polished atmosphere. Wine sourced through independent Edinburgh merchants and a selection of cocktails complete the bistro experience, while private dining is available for larger celebrations.
