Art and Vintage is a small neighbourhood cafe, gallery and vintage shop on Lyne Street in Edinburgh. The relaxed room brings food, contemporary art and carefully sourced decorative objects together, giving a daytime visit more character than a conventional cafe stop.
The changing menu balances healthy, seasonal food with hearty choices. Soup of the day comes with bread or a savoury scone, while sandwiches and sourdough toasties include combinations of chicken and smoked cheddar, ham hough and Swiss cheese, and goat's cheese with chilli jam.
More substantial lunch dishes include pulled pork tacos with lime dressed slaw and chipotle mayonnaise, sweetcorn fritter tacos and a goat's cheese salad with apple, dates, seeds and red pepper dressing. Vegan substitutions are clearly available across several choices.
Home baking, brunch and occasional dinner nights broaden the offering beyond the regular lunch menu. Seating is limited, so booking at busy times is sensible, but the intimate scale is part of the appeal for diners who enjoy browsing the rotating art and vintage collection around their meal.
