Chippy on the Corner Menu

Chippy on the Corner is a family run fish and chip restaurant on Caledonian Road, established in 2022 by local owners with long experience in hospitality. Guests can sit in, reserve a table or order to take away, and the restaurant also serves beer, cider and wine.

Fish is responsibly sourced, delivered fresh and cooked to order in crisp batter using groundnut oil. Cod, haddock, plaice and rock appear alongside cod bites, homemade fish cakes and a mixed seafood platter of prawns, calamari, scampi and cod.

The menu retains the essentials of a British chippy through hand cut chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, gravy, pickled onions and tartare sauce made in house. Pie and mash, chicken, sausages and freshly made fish, chicken and halloumi burgers provide alternatives to a traditional fish supper.

Vegetable fritters, grilled padron peppers, salad and a halloumi platter give meat free diners useful choices. Sticky toffee pudding and lemon drizzle cake with custard offer a comforting finish, making the restaurant suitable for a full casual meal rather than collection alone.
