Singapore Garden is a family run restaurant at 83 Fairfax Road that has served Singaporean and Malaysian food for more than forty years. Its long menu brings together comforting staples, wok cooking, curries and dishes built for sharing. Guests can dine in, collect a takeaway or order delivery, with set menus providing an easy introduction for larger tables.
Starters include satay grilled over charcoal, crisp pastry top hats filled with chicken and prawns, soft shell crab with garlic and chilli, dumplings and roti canai with Malaysian curry sauce. Soups range from wonton and fish ball with glass noodles to hot and sour or tom yum. These opening dishes establish a balance of spice, crunch, savoury stock and fresh aromatics.
Singaporean and Malaysian specialities include coconut chicken or beef curry, assam fish curry, nasi goreng, oyster omelette, rojak and tofu served with beansprouts, cucumber, peanut and sweet soy. Noodles appear as ho fun, crisp egg noodles, barbecued pork with braised noodles and other wok fried combinations. Sambal, preserved vegetables and prawn paste bring depth to traditional flavours.
Seafood, duck, chicken, pork, beef, lamb and vegetables can also be ordered in a broad range of Cantonese style preparations. Shared menus progress from mixed starters to aromatic duck, lobster, meat, seafood, greens, noodles and rice. Tiger beer, wine, cocktails and the house Singapore Garden Sling accompany the food, while mochi offers a light finish.
