The George Fitzrovia is an eighteenth century, Grade II listed pub at 55 Great Portland Street. Restored as a modern public house while retaining its historic character, it serves food and drinks across two floors. The building's association with political, cultural and literary life gives the pub a distinctive sense of place in the centre of Fitzrovia.
Snacks and small plates move between pub tradition and more contemporary combinations. Oysters, chicken liver parfait, black pudding Scotch egg, fried chicken and pork ribs sit alongside vegetable tempura, filled pasta and seafood. These dishes can open a full meal or form a broad sharing selection to enjoy with a pint or cocktail.
Pub classics include beer battered fish and chips, a cheeseburger with bacon and a fried chicken sandwich. The grill adds pork, mutton, Iberico pork and several cuts of beef, with sauces and familiar sides ordered separately. On Sundays, traditional roasts become the focus, while seasonal fish and vegetable dishes give the kitchen room to change through the year.
Sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble and changing desserts provide a properly comforting finish. Guinness, cask ale, craft beer, Irish whiskey and Irish coffee are house signatures, joined by wine and seasonal cocktails. Live sport, music, quizzes and private dining in the first floor Gluepot room extend The George beyond everyday drinking and dining.
