The Chancellors is a longstanding neighbourhood pub at 25 Crisp Road in Hammersmith, opposite Riverside Studios and a short walk from the Thames. The building dates from the nineteenth century and the pub has remained in the same family for decades. Its unpretentious character makes it a relaxed alternative to many of the more polished riverside venues nearby.
Inside, the bar runs around three sides of a square and is framed by dark wood, black banquette seating and a traditional fireplace. Black and white photographs of British film and television stars connect the room with the history of the neighbouring studios. Outdoor seating provides another option in fine weather, while the compact layout keeps the atmosphere sociable.
Draught beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks support the pub’s role as a place for a casual pint or an evening with friends. Televised sport, occasional live music and a regular local crowd give different days their own rhythm. The combination of a friendly bar, river proximity and familiar surroundings has helped The Chancellors retain the feel of a genuine Hammersmith local.
Food has long been part of the pub’s identity, although the kitchen entered a period of change after the resident Crisp Pizza operation moved to Mayfair in late 2025.
