Al Dente South Kensington is an Italian pasta restaurant at 65 Old Brompton Road. The kitchen makes pasta on site each day, and the dining room brings the feel of an Italian pastificio to one of the group’s larger London locations, with tables available for reservations and walk-in guests.
Roman classics are a particular strength. Spaghettoni carbonara combines guanciale, egg, pecorino and black pepper, while tonnarelli cacio e pepe and rigatoni amatriciana demonstrate how a short list of carefully chosen ingredients can produce full, direct flavours.
The pasta selection travels beyond Rome through pesto, beef ragu, sausage and nduja, seafood linguine and ravioli filled with pumpkin or with spinach, mushroom, ricotta and truffle. Antipasti, aubergine parmigiana, lasagne, salads and a small Roman pinsa selection give groups alternatives around the central pasta offering.
Italian wine and aperitivo style drinks complement the food, while tiramisu, cannolo and semifreddo offer a traditional ending. Gluten free pasta is available for an additional charge, but guests with allergies or dietary requirements should still discuss ingredients and preparation with the team.
