Bar Crispin is a compact restaurant and natural wine bar at 19 Kingly Street in Soho, close to Kingly Court and Carnaby Street. The kitchen serves a flexible collection of snacks and sharing plates rather than a conventional sequence of courses. This format works equally well for a quick glass and bite, a solo meal at the counter or a longer evening built around several dishes and wine.
Small snacks establish the menu’s French and European character. Warm Comté gougères, fried olives, sourdough with brown butter and fries with garlic mayonnaise are designed to arrive quickly. Anchovy toast, cured meat and carefully sourced cheeses offer salty, savoury partners for the wine, while pickles and seasonal accompaniments keep the flavours lively.
Larger sharing plates move through seafood, vegetables and meat according to the season. Monkfish crudo is dressed with citrus and chilli, crab rarebit brings deep richness, and lamb skewers are paired with labneh and spiced carrots. Steak with peppercorn sauce provides a more substantial centrepiece, with salads and vegetable plates bringing freshness alongside it.
The wine list focuses mainly on small European producers working with organic, biodynamic and low intervention methods. Bottles explore regions from the Loire and Beaujolais to Sicily, Greece, Tenerife and the Jura, and the selection changes as limited wines sell out. Cocktails, vermouth, beer and cider provide alternatives, while the downstairs Green Room accommodates intimate private dinners.
