Cafe Plaka is a long established neighbourhood cafe at 315 Gray's Inn Road, within easy reach of King's Cross. It opens early for breakfast and continues into the afternoon, offering a friendly, unpretentious setting for coffee, brunch or a full daytime meal.
Traditional English breakfasts are a central part of the menu, accompanied by vegetarian choices and Mediterranean inspired combinations. A Mediterranean breakfast brings together elements such as olives, savoury filo pastry, halloumi, feta and salad for a contrasting start to the day.
Lunch extends across homemade burgers, fish and chips, chilli with rice, chicken curry, lasagne and moussaka. Grilled chicken and vegetable burgers add further choice, while the mix of British cafe standards and Greek influenced dishes gives regular customers useful variety.
Coffee and pastries make Cafe Plaka suitable for a shorter stop, but the generous cooked plates also reward a sit-down visit. Its early opening, broad menu and position on a busy central London route make it a practical local cafe for commuters, visitors and nearby workers.
