Condesa Covent Garden is an intimate tapas and wine bar at 15 Maiden Lane. The restaurant draws on both Spain and Mexico, using the small plate format to connect Iberian ingredients with chillies, corn, agave and other Mexican flavours in a lively central London setting.
The current menu moves between seafood and meat dishes such as chorizo with squid, spicy tuna tostada, black rice with squid and slow cooked pork belly carnitas tacos. Smoked Iberico pork sliders and braised oxtail show the kitchen’s richer side, with pickles, fruit and fresh chilli bringing contrast.
Vegetable plates receive the same detailed treatment, including roasted cauliflower with spicy romesco, a classic tortilla with alioli and heritage carrots with chipotle and piquillo pepper. Manchego, cured beef, acorn fed pork loin, pan con tomate and Padron peppers make it easy to build a varied table for sharing.
The bar serves Spanish inspired cocktails, natural wine, Rioja, sherry and cava, as well as vermouth and lighter aperitifs. Walk ins are welcomed at the bar and tables can be booked for a fuller meal; guests with allergies should discuss the menu with the team before ordering.
