La Familia Soho is a Mexican taqueria and late night Latin venue at 6 Poland Street in London. Formerly Barrio Soho, the same operator relaunched the premises under its current name, with a bright, informal taqueria upstairs and the moodier La Discoteca cocktail bar below.
The food focuses on Mexican street food made for sharing, with warm tortillas carrying fillings such as slow braised carnitas and richly spiced beef birria. A cactus based nopal taco gives the signature selection a distinctive vegetarian choice.
Quesadillas include potato with chorizo and a meat free combination of oyster mushrooms, sweetcorn and epazote with melted cheese and salsa verde. Totopos can be paired with refried beans and queso fresco or a trio of house salsas ranging from bright green to smoky chilli flavours.
Margaritas, tequila and Latin inspired cocktails connect the upstairs meal with music and dancing downstairs later in the evening.
