Coopers Restaurant & Bar is a contemporary British and European restaurant at 49 Lincoln's Inn Fields in Holborn. Reopened after a major refurbishment in May 2026, it offers a calm weekday dining room close to the Sir John Soane Museum, the Peacock Theatre and Covent Garden. Lunch, early evening meals and a concise drinks selection make it equally useful for local workers, museum visitors and diners heading to the theatre.
The menu follows the seasons and gives vegetables a prominent place. Current starters include a salad of carrots, candied walnuts, acidulated cream and green leaves, along with honey roasted ham, basil emulsion, charred courgette and shaved Spenwood cheese. A broad bean, pea and marsh samphire risotto with toasted seeds offers a substantial vegetable led opening.
Main courses continue the straightforward seasonal approach. Spaghetti with courgettes, basil and pine nuts provides a fresh pasta choice, while rump steak is served with Koffmann fries and dressed watercress. The Coopers ploughman's lunch gathers classic British ingredients onto one plate, and sides such as Jersey Royal potatoes, buttered carrots with summer herbs, green salad and garlic thyme fries complete the meal.
Desserts include warm chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, Kent strawberries with cream and a Wigmore cheese plate. A weekday early evening set menu provides a convenient option before a performance, supported by wine, beer and a full bar. The main dining room and a separate downstairs space can also accommodate private celebrations, corporate meals and larger receptions.
