Gebeta Ethiopian Kitchen is a restaurant at 51 Leather Lane that grew from a food business established in 2014. Its warm dining room and sharing style introduce Ethiopian hospitality through traditional recipes, coffee and occasional cultural performances.
Injera forms the base of many meals, absorbing the sauces from stews and allowing diners to gather each bite by hand. Beef and lamb appear in tibs and firfir preparations, while kitfo combines seasoned minced meat with clarified butter and aromatic spice.
Vegan platters bring together red and brown lentils, split peas, cabbage, spinach and green beans. These dishes have their own place in Ethiopian food tradition and provide a colourful, satisfying way to explore multiple textures without meat.
