Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea at Sanderson is served at the Sanderson hotel, 50 Berners Street in Fitzrovia. The experience uses Alice in Wonderland as its inspiration, turning a traditional afternoon tea into a playful sequence of themed savouries and sweets.
The menu balances delicate sandwiches and savoury bites with cakes, pastries and scones. Decorative presentation, specially designed tableware and references to familiar characters give each course a sense of theatre while retaining the familiar structure of afternoon tea.
Tea is central to the service, with a selection of blends designed to accompany the different flavours. Packages can also include sparkling wine or Champagne, and larger celebrations can be arranged in advance for groups.
The hotel setting and whimsical details make the experience particularly suited to birthdays, visits to the West End and leisurely special occasions. Guests with allergies should disclose their requirements when booking because prepayment and advance preparation apply and the menu can change.
