Myrtos by Asimakis is a modern Greek restaurant on Brompton Road in South Kensington, created by chef Asimakis Chaniotis. Inspired by his upbringing in Athens and his connections to Kefalonia, the restaurant combines the generosity of Greek hospitality with the precision developed during his years in London fine dining.
The cooking begins with recognisable Greek flavours and presents them in a thoughtful contemporary form. Taramosalata, marinated sardines, Greek salad with feta mousse and traditionally prepared moussaka sit alongside seafood and meat dishes designed to retain the clarity and warmth of their original inspiration.
Ingredients are drawn from both Greece and trusted British producers, including Greek olive oil, cheeses and wild greens alongside seasonal local produce. Whole Kefalonian sea bass baked in a salt crust expresses the restaurant's particular interest in fish, while an in-room seafood counter reinforces that focus.
The light dining room uses an olive tree, natural stone and work by Greek artists to suggest an island setting without losing its London character. Greek wine, cocktails developed with an Athens bar and a service style grounded in philoxenia complete an experience intended for sharing, celebrations and relaxed hospitality.
