Rasa Sayang Chinatown is a Malaysian and Singaporean restaurant at 5 Macclesfield Street in London. Named after a treasured Malaysian folk song, it brings the energy and food traditions of Southeast Asian neighbourhood cafes and hawker centres into a welcoming central London dining room.
The menu reflects the Straits region’s layered culinary history through aromatic spices, coconut, chilli, noodles and rice. Nasi lemak combines coconut rice with accompaniments such as curry, while Singapore chilli crab offers a richer seafood centrepiece for the table.
Made-from-scratch specialities include kueh pie tee, delicate crisp shells filled with chicken, dried shrimp and fresh turnip. Laksa, rendang, roti and rice or noodle dishes provide several different routes through the menu, which is prepared as a halal offering.
The bright street-level room and downstairs canteen area suit quick lunches as well as shared evening meals, and bookings are available. Guests with allergies or dietary requirements should consult the restaurant’s current information and speak with the team before ordering.
