The Princess of Wales is a restored Victorian gastropub at 22 Chalcot Road in Primrose Hill. Spread over three floors, it includes a first floor dining room, a lower floor bar and event space, and a courtyard known as the Banksy Garden after a lion stencil appeared there in 2011. Families and dogs are welcome for everything from a quiet lunch to a private celebration.
Bar snacks and smaller plates include Padron peppers, mixed olives, spicy chicken wings, tomato and Manchego croquettes, seasonal soup and calamari with a squid ink and mirin aioli. Baked Camembert in pizza dough is designed for sharing, while an antipasti board gathers salami, Parma ham, olives, capers, halloumi and mozzarella for a larger table.
