Three Uncles Ealing is a casual Cantonese restaurant at 13 Filmworks Walk, directly opposite the Ealing Filmworks cinema. The compact dining room has 35 indoor seats, with additional outdoor seating in summer, and tables are offered on a first come basis.
Hong Kong style siu mei is the heart of the menu. Roast duck, crispy pork belly, char siu and Hainan chicken can be ordered over steamed jasmine rice, while combination plates allow diners to compare two or three meats with pak choi and a choice of house sauces.
Lo mein and noodle soup add more substantial alternatives, including combinations of roast meat, wontons or slow cooked beef brisket. Freshly steamed dim sum includes char siu bao, pork and prawn siu mai and lamb dumplings, joined by curry fishballs and chilli oil wontons.
Vegetable dishes, mushroom mapo tofu and smaller street food plates make the menu useful for sharing as well as individual meals. Beer, wine, juices and soft drinks round out a quick service format that works particularly well before or after a film.
