Wazuzhi Ramen & Sushi is a Japanese restaurant at 63 Faulkner Street in Manchester Chinatown. The business first opened as Wasabi Sushi in 2007 and continues at the same address under its current name. It operates on a walk in basis, with a conveyor belt providing a lively and informal way to choose sushi.
Sushi can be selected from the moving belt or ordered in made to order rolls and sets. The format lets diners begin with a few small plates and add more as the meal develops. An à la carte menu also includes starters, noodles and rice dishes for guests who want hot food or a more conventional main course.
Tonkotsu ramen is a signature dish, using a rich pork bone broth to create a creamy, savoury bowl. Weekday lunch sets, evening and weekend menus, teishoku meals and full futomaki rolls provide different ways to order depending on the time and appetite. Guests with allergies should speak with staff because seafood, soy, sesame and gluten are handled across the menu.
The upstairs dessert room adds a separate finish on selected days, while the Chinatown location makes Wazuzhi convenient for a central Manchester meal. The restaurant suits solo diners at the belt as well as groups sharing sushi and hot dishes. Its combination of kaiten service, ramen and structured Japanese sets gives the menu notable breadth.
